11.11.10 Safe Host Further Expands Its Geneva Presence by adding 900 SQM to Its Existing Footprint.

Plans-les-Ouates, Geneva – 11 November, 2010 Safe Host, Switzerland’s premier data centre and business continuity services provider, is bringing online 900 SQM of additional tier-3 space at its Geneva data centre for April 2011. The increase expands the data centre space from 4500 SQM of net rackable space to 5400 SQM. The expansion was required to meet growing customer demand for energy-efficient, high-power-density colocation infrastructure and outsourced managed services.

The increase in capacity will upgrade power from 10MVA to 12.4MVA allowing the centre to support the latest high-density power configuration requirements. The new space will adhere to Safe Host’s 2N UPS, N+1 cooling design and be integrated into our advanced alarming and monitoring systems.

In addition, the expansion has been designed to integrate using Safe Host’s energy efficient free cooling systems and will be fed by 100% hydro power source as is the case for the current data centre. Customers will be able to monitor the power usage allowing them to optimize PUEs.
